Maciej Albinowski

economist

PhD in economics (Warsaw School of Economics). In his current research, Maciej investigates factors that foster inclusivity in the labour market. In a project funded by the National Science Centre (2025-2026), he is analysing the role of social norms in part-time employment preferences in Europe. He also conducted other research projects funded by the National Science Centre, the Horizon Europe programme, and the Taxes for Health Initiative.

Prior to joining the IBS, Maciej worked at Poland’s Ministry of Finance, where he conducted econometric analyses with the use of administrative data.

When he’s not working, Maciej enjoys reading historical fiction (favourite author: Conn Iggulden), playing strategy games, and raising future astronauts.

The aim of this project is to determine whether household decisions regarding part-time work are influenced by prevailing work norms in a given country. Special attention will be devoted to differences between Western European countries and post-communist countries.
