Equality in Access to Employment: Correspondence Study on Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities

realization time: 10.2025 – 09.2026

The project aims to measure discrimination in the recruitment of persons with disabilities in the Polish labour market. Discrimination in the recruitment process refers to the unfair treatment of job candidates based on characteristics such as gender, age, race, ethnic origin, religion, or disability. It can manifest itself through favoring certain social groups at the expense of others or applying restrictions that prevent them from having equal access to work.

Our study aims to examine whether individuals with disabilities who apply for jobs in Poland have fewer chances of being hired than those with identical qualifications but without disabilities. We will develop recommendations for public policy and employers to reduce discrimination in the recruitment of persons with disabilities.

The project is funded by the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
