Refining the Job Crafting model to support young people with disabilities

June 3 2026
On 28 May 2026, an international online meeting was held to summarise the testing phase of the Job Crafting model, developed as part of the NEETcraft Initiative: Innovations for Empowering Youth with Disabilities project.

The aim of the model is to support young people with disabilities in preparing to enter the labour market, securing employment and remaining in work. The event was attended by experts and practitioners from Aktywizacja Foundation and Centerkomtura, who presented recommendations for the further development of the tool.

The test results confirmed the model’s high substantive value, whilst also highlighting the need to improve its usability and accessibility. Particular attention was drawn to the need to simplify the annexes and supporting materials, use more accessible language, and develop clear instructions for using the individual tools. Experts also emphasised the importance of an individual and flexible approach to participants and of providing comprehensive support at every stage of the employment process.

Among the key recommendations was also the strengthening of cooperation with employers through support for induction processes and the individual onboarding of new employees. In addition, it was proposed to develop tools to monitor participants’ progress, which will allow for a more effective evaluation of the model’s results. The feedback gathered during the trials will be incorporated into the final version of the Job Crafting Model, which will undergo professional linguistic editing and be adapted to the needs of organisations implementing the solution in practice.
