Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a UN body founded in 1988 in Geneva to assess the science related to climate change. The organisation was set up by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In 2007, the organization together with Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. IPCC reports are treated as a basis for designing national and international climate policies. Since 1995 the IPCC has produced five Assessment Reports. The Fourth Report has been prepared by more than 600 authors from over 40 countries. The last one was published in 2014.
