Modelling the Impacts of Climate Change Mitigation Policies in Chile

realization time: 08.2019 - 01.2020

Between 2013 and 2014 experts from the Institute for Structural Research took part in the MAPS Chile project. Its aim was to develop a general equilibrium model of the Chilean economy and to assess the macroeconomic effects of climate change mitigation policies. This project, which is conducted between August 2019 and January 2020, will consist of updating the model and using it to assess the new set of mitigation policies the government aims to implement until 2030 in order to meet the emission target set in the Nationally Determined Contributions. The results of the simulations will be presented on December 11th 2019 during a seminar organised by the Ministry of Finance and Central Bank of Chile as part of the COP25 climate summit.

This project is financed by the World Bank Group.
