During the multi-threaded panel, the focus was primarily on the challenges posed by the transition process. Joanna Mazurkiewicz talked about energy poverty as an essential phenomenon influencing energy transition in Poland and the situation of women regarding this issue. The energy transition provides opportunities to reduce the problem of energy poverty, mainly through new technologies, social innovation, and available funding.
In the second round of discussions, Joanna Mazurkiewicz emphasised the need to recognise and understand the positions of different stakeholders in the energy transition. She highlighted that without such a dialogue, the concerns of various social groups may be exploited by populists to gain political support, deepen social polarisation, and slow down the transition pace.
