2017 IBS Jobs Conference – call for papers

We are proud to announce the 2017 IBS Jobs Conference, which will take place on December 6-7, 2017 in Warsaw. The call for papers will last until October 29.

The main focus of the conference will be on population ageing, technology, the distribution of skills and tasks, and inequalities in the labour markets. Technology progress and demographic change affect labour markets around the world. They influence the structure of labour demand and labour supply, may drive to skill mismatches and can aggravate inequalities in wages, income and job quality. The conference aims to deepen the understanding of how these phenomena shape the labour markets around the world and what policies could be formed to address the resulting challenges. The conference will have an international focus and will gather researchers and policy-makers from around the world. The event will also facilitate the exchange of ideas between the researchers in these topics.

The conference will cover the following issues:

  • Technology, offshoring and their effects on the global division of work
  • Structural change and occupational change
  • Demand for skills and tasks
  • Population ageing and its impact on labour markets
  • Wage inequalities and gender gaps
 Call for papers

Please submit a full paper or an extended abstract of approximately 1000 words, outlining the research questions, research design and policy conclusions. Intersectoral, interdisciplinary approaches and policy relevant papers on the themes outlined above are most welcome. English is the required language for the proposals and papers.

Authors of the selected papers will be invited to present them at the conference.  Continental travel and accommodation costs (for up to three nights: December 5 to 7) will be reimbursed by the organisers (please see the reimbursement guidelines below).

The proposals should be submitted by e-mail: jobs_conference@ibs.org.pl until October 29.

November 17, 2017 – Deadline for full papers
