We’d like to congratulate Maciej Lis on achieving his PhD!

Selected implications of population ageing for productivity, economic activity and health expenditure.

On April 12 our own Maciej Lis achieved the PhD degree at the Collegium of Economic Analysis at the Warsaw School of Economics. Maciej’s PhD dissertation research was supervised by prof. Marek Góra (Warsaw School of Economics).

Population ageing, or the rise in share of older people within a population, has been gaining speed and becoming a global phenomenon. In his PhD dissertation on “Selected implications of population ageing for productivity, economic activity and health expenditure”, Maciej Lis shows that the impact of ageing on the labour market (employment and productivity) and on healthcare expenditure, might be lower than suggested by simple models.
