Migration and mobility in the Europe and Central Asia Region

On October 19 in Warsaw will be presented the latest World Bank report about the economic situation in the ECA region.

The World Bank together with the Institute for Structural Research (IBS) and the Centre of Migration Research (OBM) have a pleasure to invite you to an international conference to launch the latest World Bank Economic Update for Europe and Central Asia (ECA), titled “Migration and Mobility in the Europe and Central Asia Region” (see previous reports).

During the conference, Hans Timmer, Chief Economist of the World Bank’s ECA region, will give a presentation on migration and mobility – two factors that play a vital role in the economic, political, and social dynamics of the countries in this region. The conference will provide an opportunity to discuss, among other things, the benefits and challenges of migration for host and origin countries in the region. Speakers will include: Hans TimmerPiotr Lewandowski (Institute for Structural Research), and Paweł Kaczmarczyk (Centre of Migration Research).

The conference will take place on October 19th 2017 in the Press Centre of the Polish Press Agency (Bracka Str. 6/8) from 11.00-13.00.

Please note that the meeting will be held in English (translation into Polish will not be provided).
