The IAB is a labour market research institute. Its purpose is to advise political actors at all levels. Economists, sociologists and other social researchers at the IAB use the comprehensive labour market databases available there in their research.
Agata Rozszczypała presented a paper on the impact of the disability-related education gap on employment in the European Union (written with Maciej Albinowski and Iga Magda). An important finding of the study is that 20% of the employment gap for people with disabilities aged 25-34 in the EU can be attributed to the education gap.
The presentation was part of a session on groups in the labour market. In this session, researchers from the University of Antwerp and the University of Münster also presented the results of their research on trade unions and the gender pay gap.
