Energy transition – a new project

December 17 2021
In the new international project, we will analyse the effects of the increasing carbon costs in the EU on the economically vulnerable groups of final energy consumers in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. The project is part of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI).

We will focus on energy poverty and effective measures to mitigate the negative effects of carbon taxation, including redistributing the additional tax revenues to ensure social fairness and optimise social protection for the most vulnerable social groups. IBS will be responsible for the quantitative modelling (macrosimulation) and will take part in the microsimulation research of the distributional effects of the carbon pricing. We will coordinate the process of communication, activation, engagement and  exchange of knowledge with stakeholders in Poland. Join us at the kick-off event  and follow the project news on the project website.
