2018 Jobs and Development Conference

On May 11-12 in Bogotá (Colombia) will host an international conference whose aim is to foster multi-disciplinary solutions to jobs challenges. We encourage you to participate online.

Almost 100 researchers from over 25 countries will present their latest policy-relevant research on the most pressing issues on jobs, such as informality, migration, unemployment, and the impact of globalisation and technological change on labour markets. This truly global conference aims to foster multi-disciplinary solutions to jobs challenges based on research and empirical evidence. In particular, the impact of following issues will be discussed: economic growth, educational expansion, demographic change, energy transitions.

Speakers will include researchers from main research and science organisations in the world. Among others: The World Bank, Leibniz Institute for Economic Research (RWI), Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), Development Policy Research Unit at University of Cape Town (DPRU, South Africa), HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies (HKUST IEMS, Hong Kong), Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) (→ agenda).

The research carried out in our Institute will be presented by:
