23rd Annual EAERE Conference

This year the Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists took place in Athens on June 28 – July 1, 2017.
The conference is the most important scientific meeting for economists in the field of environmental and resource economics in Europe. The presentations at the 23rd edition of the conference included: studies on the costs of climate policies, modelling of the energy-saving behaviour of the consumers as well as the valuation of ecological good.
Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks from the Institute for Structural Research (IBS) presented his article, coauthored with Carolyn Fischer from Resources for the Future. The topic of the presentation was “Green Innovation and Economic Growth in a North-South Model”. The article indicates that the unilateral R&D policy promoting green technologies in one region may induce a switch of researchers from dirty to clean technologies also in other regions.
