The main objective of the project is to assess how the resources of the Just Transition Fund (JTF) are being used in Poland. We will examine how the JTF supports regions most exposed to the social, economic and territorial consequences of moving away from a coal-based economy, and whether it primarily functions as an instrument of energy transition or also as a broader tool of regional development policy.
In the project, we will:
- analyze the structure of JTF spending in the five voivodeships covered by support,
- examine the expected effects of the projects being implemented, including in the areas of the labour market, entrepreneurship, energy, environment, mobility and quality of life,
- compare the transformation models of coal and post-coal regions and assess the role of the JTF in building new foundations for their socio-economic development.
