ENBLOC project results presented at ESA and Energy and Society Network conference

September 26 2025
On 24–25 September, Kaunas (Lithuania) hosted the ESA RN12 ‘Environment and Society’ mid-term and Energy and Society Network 7th international joint conference.

The conference focused on social responses to environmental crises and energy transition.

During the conference, Aleksandra Prusak (IBS) and Sona Stara (CVUT) presented the results of research carried out as part of the ENBLOC project. Their presentation focused on attitudes towards energy transition in multi-family buildings.

The research conducted by IBS and CVUT shows that the energy transition in multi-family buildings faces institutional, regulatory and financial barriers. Where energy transition does take place, it usually takes a centralised form, with limited resident participation, and is motivated primarily by savings rather than climate concerns.

Participation in the event was financed by a grant from the National Science Centre as part of the OPUS competition in the Weave programme (agreement no. 2021/43/I/HS4/03185).
