Collective decision-making in investment, housing and unionisation in the energy transition

The project aims to answer the following question: how does collective decision-making in investments, housing, and the labour market impact the effectiveness of the energy transition.

Three empirical studies will be conducted:

1. Investments in new technologies: Analysing collaboration among residents of multifamily buildings in decision-making on energy efficiency investments.
2. Housing conditions: Investigating residents’ preferences for innovative housing models, such as cohousing, and their role in adapting to the energy transition.
3. Labour market shifts: Examining preferences for collective bargaining and trade unions in transitioning from “brown” to “green” jobs.

Each study will contribute to policy recommendations supporting a more equitable and efficient approach to Europe’s energy transition.
