Policy Brief on the use of administrative data for evaluation

14 January 2022
abstract:

This Policy Brief summarizes why administrative data are of key importance for evaluation that gives a good ground for policymaking . Data sets stored by public institutions could be collected and reintegrated into bigger entities and serve as a source of validated knowledge for evaluation. Surveys, questionnaires or data records from external institutions or private companies do also provide a complementary and necessary perspective, beyond administrative databases. Responsible computerization of institutions, data digitalization and preservation of anonymity of the data are of a key importance in this process.
