The CAN meeting 'Realising climate ambition and just energy transition in Central Eastern Europe' in Brussels was organised as part of the EUKI initiative (Europäische Klimaschutzinitiative).
The CAN event consisted of a series of workshops and meetings with representatives of the European Commission. The meetings dealt with climate and energy policy in the context of the crises of recent years, in particular, the increases in energy prices caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
During meetings with representatives of DG CLIMA, Jakub Sokołowski discussed the implications of the ‘Fit for 55’ and ‘REPowerEU’ packages for Central and Eastern Europe. The meeting helped to strengthen the dialogue between civil society organisations, like EUKI, from the CEE region and decision-makers in Brussels.
