The event brings together researchers working with data from the GGS, Contextual Database, and the Harmonized Histories, providing them a platform to discuss their most recent methodological approaches and empirical findings. Due to the COVID -19 pandemic, the conference was held online.
Marta Palczyńska presented the results of the research conducted jointly with Iga Magda and Ewa Cukrowska-Torzewska from the University of Warsaw. The main aim of the research was to find out whether households, where women contribute a higher proportion of income, are more likely to share housework equally, and whether gender norms moderate this association. It appears that women who contribute a higher proportion of household income are more likely to share housework more equally but the negative relation between female share of income and female involvement in housework is observed only among less traditional couples.
