During the webinar, the importance of personal assistance as a tool supporting independent living and the realization of human rights was discussed. The difference between personal assistance and traditional care was highlighted – the former enhances independence and gives people with disabilities real control over their own lives.
Particular attention was paid to the situation in Poland. Currently, access to personal assistance services is limited, and the system still requires changes. A key step is to implement the Personal Assistance Act, which could significantly improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
The webinar demonstrated that personal assistance is not only a form of support but also a social investment – it enables employment, increases independence, and combats exclusion. The high turnout and active participation of attendees confirm that this topic is highly topical and relevant to both practitioners and decision-makers.
