The LIFE-LOCATEE project workshop, “Local Authorities combating energy poverty in private multi-apartment buildings,” aimed to engage local communities, local government officials, experts, and residents in discussions about the needs and challenges of energy poverty at the regional level.
On June 25th in Rumia, participants discussed available forms of financial support for owners of multi-apartment buildings, issues related to heating cost settlements, and the importance of data for local authorities. The participants also took part in a discussion on effective support channels, good renovation practices, and opportunities for cooperation with municipalities. A local contact point for building residents and managers was also announced.
On June 26th, the LIFE-LOCATEE project was presented in Torres Vedras, Portugal, and initial conversations were held on developing a tool to support local authorities in identifying areas and individuals affected by energy poverty.
On June 30th, local authorities, residents, and experts participated in a workshop in Piraeus. The main topic was the municipality’s role in creating inclusive and proactive support policies and opportunities for energy transformation in multi-apartment buildings.
All the events served to exchange experiences, build local partnerships, and collect data needed for the next steps in the project. The first results of the LIFE-LOCATEE project will be presented in 2026.
