Marta Palczyńska at SEHO 2023 – the Annual Meeting of the Society of Economics of the Household

July 7 2023
SEHO - the Society of Economics of the Household brings together scientists from around the world dealing with the subject of broadly understood economics of the household. The University of Copenhagen organised this year's meeting.

Marta Palczyńska presented at SEHO Conference the results of the study “The employment effects of a wage subsidy for the young during an economic recovery”. The study assesses the employment effects of a large wage refund program for young unemployed people in Poland, which was introduced in 2016. The study uses an administrative data set on the population of people registered as unemployed. It was conducted as part of the Youth employment partnerSHIP research project.

Two keynote lectures were delivered during the conference. Frederic Vermeulen from the University of Leuven discussed research on intra-household allocation. Johanna Rickne from the University of Stockholm presented her fascinating study of the effects of sexual harassment at work on victims’ future labour market outcomes and how subsequent decisions translate into inequalities between women and men in the labour market.
