Paths2Include project’s meeting

November 12 2024
The meeting took place on 7 and 8 November in Bucharest. The project aims to investigate the phenomenon of discrimination and to develop solutions to increase the employability of disadvantaged people in the labour market.

Iga Magda and Mateusz Smoter participated in the Paths2Include meeting on behalf of IBS. Iga Magda presented the results of a study showing how skills influence various aspects of employment among people with disabilities or health conditions. Mateusz Smoter summarised the preliminary results of a qualitative survey we are conducting among employers and recruiters in Poland.

In addition, we discussed with partners from Germany, Norway and Romania the next steps of a survey among employers, which will show whether job candidates in these countries face discrimination based on origin, gender or caring responsibilities. The survey is currently in the implementation phase. We heard two presentations on the factors that increase the risk of unemployment and inactivity and provided comments on the data. This will be presented as part of an interactive map showing different aspects of social exclusion in Europe.

The Paths2Include project will run for two more years (2023 – 2026).
