The award was given for his research on the energy transition in Poland, which focused particularly on social justice issues, the effectiveness of climate policies, and innovative approaches to reducing energy poverty.
As part of his research, Jakub Sokolowski developed, among other things, a multidimensional energy poverty indicator that has been applied to Polish public policy.
During a meeting attended by the Ministry of Climate and Environment leadership, which took place on 29 November 2024, awards were presented to the winners of this year’s Climate Man of the Year competition. During the meeting, attended by Paulina Hennig-Kloska, Minister of Climate and Environment, and two Deputy Ministers – Krzysztof Bolesta and Urszula Zielińska, awards were presented in the fourth edition of the ‘Climate Man of the Year’ competition.
