During the conference held on June 20-21, 2024, Jakub Sokołowski presented research findings on preferences regarding a carbon tax. His presentation, titled “How to Avoid Another Yellow Vests Movement? Assessing Public Preference for a Carbon Tax with a Discrete Choice Experiment”, focused on analyzing social preferences for climate and energy policies in the context of the energy crisis.
Jakub Sokołowski presented IBS research findings on the social consequences of the energy transition during workshops organized by CAN Europe in Budapest, focusing on regional cooperation in the context of the new European climate policy. The next day, on June 25, he participated in a discussion panel at the conference “Advancing the EU Climate and Energy Policy Agenda in the Context of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU”. The meeting focused on integrating the social and climate objectives of the EU energy policy in the context of the Hungarian presidency.
