Economists have found analysis of changes in job tasks to be a fruitful way to understand how labour market outcomes are influenced by the changing nature of work. In this project, we develop a methodology of predicting worker tasks in countries at various development levels. We utilize the results of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/en\/publications\/technology-skills-and-globalization-explaining-international-differences-in-routine-and-nonroutine-work-using-survey-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">earlier work by Piotr Lewandowski, Albert Park, Wojciech Hardy and Yang Du<\/a>\u00a0to create new econometric models to predict task content of occupations in a large number of countries.<br>The project will result in a research paper, as well as data inputs which will be used by the UNU WIDER researchers in the forthcoming volume on inequality and structural change in low- and middle-income countries.<br>In this project, we cooperate with Albert Park (IEMS HKUST) and Simone Schotte (UNU WIDER).
