Celem publikacji jest przedstawienie skali i charakterystyki ub\u00f3stwa energetycznego w Polsce na podstawie najnowszych dost\u0119pnych danych. Ub\u00f3stwo energetyczne w 2016 roku dotyka\u0142o 12,2% mieszka\u0144c\u00f3w Polski, czyli 4,6 mln os\u00f3b (1,3 mln gospodarstw domowych). Skala zjawiska zmniejszy\u0142a si\u0119 w ostatnich 5 latach o 2,3 pkt. proc. (w por\u00f3wnaniu do 14,5% ubogich energetycznie w 2012 r.). Poprawa sytuacji gospodarstw domowych by\u0142a w znacznej mierze efektem wzrostu dochod\u00f3w. Zjawisko nie jest to\u017csame z ub\u00f3stwem dochodowym \u2013 prawie 6% Polak\u00f3w (2,1 mln) to osoby, kt\u00f3re by\u0142y ubogie energetycznie, ale nie dochodowo. Zdecydowan\u0105 wi\u0119kszo\u015b\u0107 (2\/3) ubogich energetycznie stanowili mieszka\u0144cy wsi. Jest to konsekwencj\u0105 wzgl\u0119dnie ni\u017cszych dochod\u00f3w mieszka\u0144c\u00f3w wsi oraz zamieszkiwania w domach jednorodzinnych o cz\u0119sto do\u015b\u0107 du\u017cych metra\u017cach i niskiej efektywno\u015bci energetycznej.
