{"id":7577,"date":"2019-01-25T04:50:09","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T03:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/news\/new-dimensions-of-inequalities\/"},"modified":"2022-12-30T02:13:04","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T01:13:04","slug":"new-dimensions-of-inequalities","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/en\/news\/new-dimensions-of-inequalities\/","title":{"rendered":"New dimensions of inequalities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The conference began with&nbsp;<strong>Marc Fleurbaey<\/strong>&#8216;s keynote talk &#8220;Welfare Policy and Beyond&#8221;, and included sessions on different aspects of inequalities in the labour market regarding wages, technology, youth employment, as well as institutions and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maurizio Bussolo<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Iv\u00e1n Torre<\/strong>&nbsp;presented the key findings of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/region\/eca\/publication\/eca-social-contract\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Bank report&nbsp;<\/a><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/region\/eca\/publication\/eca-social-contract\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Towards a New Social Contract in Europe and Central Asia<\/a>&#8220;.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference also included a policy panel moderated by Iga Magda, with&nbsp;<strong>Marc Fleurbaey<\/strong>&nbsp;(Princeton University),&nbsp;<strong>Carlos Pi\u00f1er\u00faa<\/strong>&nbsp;(World Bank Country Manager for Poland and the Baltic States),&nbsp;<strong>Pawe\u0142 Wojciechowski<\/strong>&nbsp;(Chief economist of the Polish Social Security Institution &#8211; ZUS) and&nbsp;<strong>Tomasz Chr\u00f3stny<\/strong>&nbsp;(Director of the Department of economic analysis in the Ministry of Enterprise and Technology).
