The goal of the meeting “The Transformation of Eastern Wielkopolska Region. People \u2014 Economy \u2014 Investment” <\/strong>was to discuss the possible measures that mitigate the negative effects of the transformation in the Eastern Wielkopolska Region and the measures that create new development opportunities. Aleksander Szpor, Daniel Kiewra<\/strong> and Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks <\/strong>of our Institute presented the economic, social, and technological aspects of the development scenario for the region in the short- and long-term perspectives. Adam Irvine<\/strong> of the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation presented activities connected with the ‘smart transformation’ from the international point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting consisted of three blocks of workshops about smart specialisation and optimal scenario of the transformation of Eastern Wielkopolska Region. The key finding from the IBS workshop will be described in the raport within the project “Transformation of the Koni\u0144skie lignite subregion<\/a>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
