{"id":6641,"date":"2015-12-21T04:46:11","date_gmt":"2015-12-21T03:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/news\/urbanization-structural-change-and-employment\/"},"modified":"2022-12-30T14:40:52","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T13:40:52","slug":"urbanization-structural-change-and-employment","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/en\/news\/urbanization-structural-change-and-employment\/","title":{"rendered":"Urbanization, Structural Change, and Employment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The conference was organized by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/iems.ust.hk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies<\/a>&nbsp;in Hong Kong, a regional partner of the World Bank\u2019s<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/topic\/jobsanddevelopment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Network on Jobs and Development (NJD)<\/a>&nbsp;programme. The conference included presentations of original research on the following emerging market and developing country related topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Urbanization, especially as it relates to labour mobility and employment,<\/li><li>Determinants of structural change and consequences for labour demand,<\/li><li>Technological change and labour demand,<\/li><li>Globalization and employment,<\/li><li>Economic growth in emerging and developing countries, including the middle income trap.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference presented both micro- and macroeconomic contributions, and a special attention was paid to China.
