In 2026, the conference will be hosted by Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS), based at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CALL FOR PAPERS - Jobs and Development Conference 2026\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bTORA47HnrY?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference will take place on October 9 &amp; 10, 2026, in Hong Kong, China. The two-day format will feature keynote speeches, a policy panel, special sessions and about 50 paper presentations in parallel sessions. The event will focus on policy-relevant research, applicable to identifying solutions to jobs challenges in low- and middle-income countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">We are delighted to announce <strong>Professor Justin Yifu Lin and Professor <strong>Uta Sch\u00f6nberg<\/strong> as a Keynote Speakers<\/strong> <br>at the Jobs and Development Conference 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Lin is Professor and Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University, and former Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank. He is widely regarded as one of the world\u2019s leading scholars in development economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Uta Sch\u00f6nberg is a Chair Professor of Economics, HKU Business School, The University of Hong Kong.
