The project has now entered a crucial empirical phase: two extensive surveys have been launched\u2014an online survey covering a representative sample of residents in multi-family buildings in Poland and the Czechia, and on-site fieldwork focusing on specific housing cooperatives in Warsaw, Jaworzno, Rumia, \u010cesk\u00e1 L\u00edpa, and Kladno. The surveys include both exploratory questions about residents’ views and declared attitudes, as well as an experimental section examining their preferences regarding community investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simultaneously, the IBS and CVUT teams interview housing cooperative representatives at various energy transition stages. These interviews cover issues such as experiencing an energy crisis, ongoing energy efficiency investments, solutions that engage residents in the discussions, and future prospects, given the increasing ageing of the housing stock and its residents. Jan Frankowski and Aleksandra Prusak presented initial ENBLOC findings at the 2nd Polish Environmental Sociology Conference held on September 26-27, 2024, at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
