It gathers researchers working on economics, management and finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Karol Mado\u0144<\/strong> presented the results of the study \u201eThe Role of Global Value Chains for Workers\u2019 Tasks and Wage Inequality\u201d, co-authored by <strong>Piotr Lewandowski<\/strong> (IBS) and <strong>Deborah Winkler<\/strong> (World Bank). The study assesses the relationship between participation in global value chains and routine intensity of jobs and its contribution to within-country wage inequality in countries at different development levels. Participation in GVCs contributes to lowered wage inequality in most countries covered in the study but not in top high-income countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference also included two keynote lectures. <strong>Matthias Doepke<\/strong> (London School of Economics and Political Science and Northwestern University) summarised his research on the economics of parenting and its impact on macroeconomic outcomes. <strong>Mariana Mazzucato<\/strong> (University College London and <em>University of Sussex<\/em>) presented her research on the role of governments in today&#8217;s economies and their capacity to deal with crises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":38631,"template":"","news_type":[308],"class_list":["post-38634","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","news_type-conference"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
