We were in Oslo on April 18 and 19 at the kick-off meeting of the international scientific project Paths2Include. During the meeting, we talked to scientists, representatives of non-governmental organisations, and trade unions who would work on the project. We discussed the goal of the project, the action plan, and under-researched areas that require more analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iga Magda and Mateusz Smoter participated in the meeting from the IBS. Iga Magda presented the goals of the work package which IBS will lead. We will identify risk factors related to weak labour market attachment of persons in vulnerable situations. We will also investigate which groups of workers may be affected by technological changes, such as automation and digitisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this project, we will also investigate employers’ hiring decisions towards persons in vulnerable situations, analyse how gender norms affect women’s employment levels, and assess the effectiveness of public policies that can potentially overcome discrimination in the labour market. We will carry out the Paths2Include project for the next three years (2023 \u2013 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
