{"id":23375,"date":"2017-06-06T13:09:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-06T11:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/?post_type=news&#038;p=23375"},"modified":"2022-12-30T13:13:19","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T12:13:19","slug":"gender-pay-gap-in-your-workplace","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/en\/news\/gender-pay-gap-in-your-workplace\/","title":{"rendered":"Gender pay gap in your workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to the Central Statistical Office of Poland (pl.&nbsp;<em>GUS<\/em>) the average difference between women\u2019s and men\u2019s wages in Poland is approx. 8% (GUS 2015, on the basis of the Structure of Earnings Survey 2014). However, the&nbsp;<strong>average (adjusted) gender pay gap (GPG)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; the average difference between wages of women and men working in comparable economic sectors and in companies of similar size, having comparable work experience, occupations, and levels of education \u2013&nbsp;<strong>is approx. 20%<\/strong>. The gender pay gap in private sector, which employs much more workers than public one, is much above the EU average and also high in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;<strong>Anonymous estimation in our company<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The statistics show &nbsp;the general view of the labour market situation, but now we are able to check the gender pay gap in our own workplaces. Our Institute in collaboration with the Group for Research in APplied Economics (GRAPE) has developed a tool to assess the differences between men and women wages in a particular company, institution, organisation. The Polish-language application, developed on behalf of the Polish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, together with additional materials such as: manual, FAQ and sample data, are publicly available both on the Ministry\u2019s website and on our website (<a href=\"https:\/\/ibs.org.pl\/resources\/rownosc-wynagrodzen-aplikacja\/\">Polish version<\/a>).
