This year the Annual Summer Conference of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE)<\/a> was hosted in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) on May 31 \u2013 June 2. The conference is one of the most important scientific meeting for economists in the field of environmental and resource economics in America. The presentations included studies on the effects of climate policies on inequality, advancement of clean technologies as well as the valuation of ecological good. Two employees of Institute for Structural Research (IBS) participated in the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aleksander Szpor<\/strong> (Institute for Structural Research \u2013 IBS) presented a paper on the costs of low carbon transition. The model shows, among other things, that the unemployment growth due to the abrupt transition is significantly larger in regions with large mining sector than in the regions which import this fuel from abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan Witajewski-Baltvilks<\/strong> (Institute for Structural Research \u2013 IBS) presented his article, co-authored with Carolyn Fischer<\/a> from Resources for the Future.
