Research on development capabilities of functional subregions of the Malopolskie voivodship

The aim of the study is to conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of region development opportunities of the Małopolskie voivodeship in terms of functional sub-regions identified in the draft of the Voivodeship Development Strategy, by proposing and justifying the delimitation of five sub-regions, and to define directions of development of individual sub-regions based on the existing possibilities for development. The boundaries of the designated sub-regions must coincide with the counties borders. Simultaneously the aim of the study is to identify the functions performed by sub-regions, defined as a set of local government units within a given area, through their development potential and the importance of local, regional and national character, including the impact range of the cities, commuting to work directions, availability and quality of public services.
