How to engage stakeholders in the modelling of the low-carbon transition?

January 27 2017
IBS and its partners in the TRANSrisk project consortium examine how pathways towards a low-emission future can be achieved within the domestic context of countries.

For such analyses both quantitative (such as models) and qualitative (participatory) analytical tools are used. TRANSrisk’s latest report, which is co-authored by IBS researchers, supports participatory consultations with stakeholders, to mobilise tacit knowledge of stakeholders in the case study countries and help integrate qualitative and quantitative analysis in TRANSrisk. Moreover, the report concludes with an identification of how complementary application of qualitative and quantitative tools could support the formulation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as required under the Paris Agreement.
